Webcomics!

webcomics

I’ve always had a love for comics, ever since I was a little kid. There was just something about the synergy of pictures and words that spoke to me, speaks to me–even now.

Then I discovered webcomics. Holy crap. When I first started reading, there weren’t that many, but the concept of free comics about blew my 8-year-old mind away. And it still does today. The sheer volume of free quality work on the internet is amazing, especially to one who has no illustrative ability. My hat is off to all of those who’ve been doing this, and I hope someday I’m worthy enough to join your ranks.

And now, a list of my favorites:

PVP - The first webcomic I ever read, and still my favorite. Mr. Kurtz has created a world and characters that I hope to continue being entertained by for many more years.

Starslip Crisis - To a boy who grew up on Star Trek, this show is a love letter to my childhood. And my awkward adulthood. Plus, Mr. Straub has an incredible wit.

Sheldon - Once, while reading this strip, I peed a little, I was laughing so hard. Seriously. Great family-oriented fun!

Kukuburi - This comic escapes description. Needless to to say, however, it is great.

LICD - A guilty pleasure that always makes me bust a gut laughing.

Questionable Content - I don’t get any of the music jokes this comic makes, but the literary humor, and joke execution is simply brilliant. A great read.

So there’s my favorites, I’m sure there’s many more out there that are worthy of notice. Keep on keepin’ on folks!
